For new parents, one of the gears you must have is a stroller. There are different types of strollers that it can be a little confusing which one to get. You don’t actually need to own each one, usually having two of these is sufficient. So to better understand each one and help you decide which type of stroller is right for you, you came into the right place.

These types are usually sold in a combination of convenience stroller and infant car seat. It includes a stay-in-car base so you can place the baby in car safely then bring her/him out for a stroll, vice versa. But these types are often not of the highest quality and is not ideal to use for a prolonged period. The problem with these types, they are often not of high quality and instead of transferring our children to the stroller when we’re outside. It is tempting for us to keep our child in her infant seat placed on top of the stroller for prolonged time especially if we do not want to disturb them when we find them asleep. This, however, is not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics because doing so will increase the risk of plagiocephaly or also known as misshapen skull which could also compromise young infant’s breathing.

Most car seats accommodate an infant up to 40 pounds, or approximately 4 years of age. The strollers are designed to fold quickly and easily, and are usually compact for easy storage. This is a good option for travels but we have the responsibility to make sure we minimize the use of infant car seat only when traveling and transfer our kids to a proper stroller.

These strollers are usually the biggest, heaviest and bulkiest among the bunch. So if you are just going out for quick trips or use public transits, this might not be ideal to bring since it requires too much work in fitting it inside your vehicle or carrying it around. But what’s great with standard and full sized strollers, they serve their functions very well and have the most features you will need for a stroller. Such additional features include a parent and child trays, large storage basket, full-recline feature and canopy.

These types also brings the most comfort to your child. And since they tend to be heavy, it is because they mostly durable and solid construction made with aluminum frames. These helps the stroller for better maneuverability, stability and resistance to rust. You will surely be using this for a long time before you will ever need to replace another.

Unlike other strollers that require them to a little older before you can use them, the standard and full-size strollers can be used from the time your child is born. You can also use when you baby has reached up to 50 pounds of weight and about 4 years of age.

Just by its name, you would already have an idea that these types are designed for active parents in mind. These are three-wheeled strollers that allow you to bring your baby along while you exercise. Jogging Strollers are usually available in two main types, a swivel front wheel and those with stationary one. While you may opt for swivel wheels to have better maneuverability, fixed wheels on the other hand are more stable and less likely to shake too much on every bump and dip when you are going too fast.  They have unique features such as hand-brake and all-terrain wheels to prevent the stroller from too much shaking when you are going too fast and easily brakes it for sudden stops. They still have the common accessories like storage basket and comfortable seat.

Even when you have kids around, don’t let that hold you back from living your active lifestyle. This stroller lets you maximize your active lifestyle and still keeps your baby safe. You can go jogging, light hiking and camping with your baby just fine. However, jogging strollers do not recline and are not very safe to use with your children under six months old or who still unable to sit up. Jogging strollers can accommodate up to 50 pounds or roughly 5 years of age.
