Honestly, if I could include all of them, I would as they all have pretty nifty features for a good price deal. All of them really gave me a hard time deciding what makes them stand out better than the rest available in the market.

But it’s still better to have one than none at all to put some of yours and your baby’s stuff. Its front wheels swivel and feature a suspension system that gives outstanding control of the wheels.
The padded seat can be rolled up into a comfortable headrest and exposes a mesh back which allows better airflow perfect for the summer walks. This stroller can carry a maximum weight recommendation of 40 pounds and is advisable for a child who has developed enough upper body control to sit.
And in order to keep the cost to a minimum to be able to sell it at a lower price, North Star had to compromise and removed the reclining function. It’s a bit of a let down really but that is the only drawback it has. Fortunately the seat is already at slightly reclined position, to keep your baby comfortable and prevent him or her from bending forward. Your child’s safety is still the priority.
What’s more to love about North Star is its ability for a quick and compact fold and unfold for storage. Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stoller: best under $150 budget
When it comes to Summer Infant, we’re always on our toes and anticipate what they have in store for us. They never miss to keep us in awe for their new offering of strollers every year! From their hit stroller, the 3Dlite then 3D Zyre, now comes the 3Dtote! If you happen to love its older siblings, then you’ll totally fall in love for sure.
The Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stroller is designed after the award-winning and best-selling stroller, 3Dlite, but packs with more improved features, comfort and performance. It is durable, fairly lightweight and made with a sturdy aluminum frame. Its expandable ‘snap up or snap down’ mesh storage basket is even 3 times larger than its predecessor, 3Dlite, and provides more storage space for your stuff. It is also decked out with a number of pockets, extra cup holders and toy loops. Now, you can bring those adventure essentials along without having to stress over how to carry them all.
Best bonding moments with family are created by engaging in outdoor activities together. From simple strolling to out-of-town trips, you’ll realize that there are just loads of important things to bring, especially having a baby along the trip; so the need for more storage in a stroller is necessary! To answer to that clamor, Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stroller comes to your rescue. A stroller that can actually hold all the ESSENTIALS mom and child need. Its rear storage extension can be made bigger by simply snapping the basket up. It’s definitely one of the largest storage baskets I’ve seen so far. With all the available space you can put your stuff in, just make sure you don’t forget to bring them. You can fully enjoy your adventure with your little one with no worries!
When it comes to canopies, the 3Dtote is not far left behind. Its canopy is adjustable and large enough to protect your child’s sensitive skin. It also has a pop out sun visor for an extended protection from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. It only lacks a SPF sunshade since its visor is only made with regular fabric. On the plus side, it has a peek-a-boo window to allow you to check your child regularly.
Its seat is attached with a 5-point safety harness with additional padding to keep your baby safe and comfortable throughout the ride. Best of all, the harness can easily adjusts to 3 height positions to adapt to your child’s growth. I always love a stroller that has a grow with your child feel as you actually get more of your money’s worth. This might just be the stroller you’ll ever need with your baby and have it around until child grows old enough not to need one!
Diapers are common sight when it comes to babies. So, the company designed a convenient way to accommodate diaper bags and shopping bags through built in clips. Your stroller will be saved from looking like a huge mess with all sorts of weights hanging from the front of the stroller, as the clips will secure your bags in place. The 3Dtote will not tip over easily and can accommodate a maximum hanging weight of 5 pounds.
3Dtote is designed with convenience in mind. As I mentioned earlier, it allows easy access to the large bottom basket. Plus, it has the ability to lay the seat nearly flat, to make napping and on-the-go diaper changes hassle-free. The seat also reclines in 3 positions to support the age and mood of your child for maximum comfort. You can recline the seat effortlessly using its one hand handle and adjust to the proper position you want. One missing convenience I noticed is the absence of a footrest, but not a deal breaker for me.
We want a smooth ride for baby, especially so as not to disturb his sleep. 3Dtote’s large and durable 6-inch wheels has easy glide bearings and front suspension for better shock absorption and rolls smoothly. All wheels are lockable and can stay in place even on trickier surfaces such as cobblestone. The front wheel can swivel while the rear wheels can easily be locked with just the tip of your shoe.
Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stroller is recommended for babies from 6 months to 50 pounds. The 3Dtote allows you to travel with baby safely and with ease without compromising comfort. It wears an all black with few accents that looks modern and trendy that won’t get dirtied easily.
For not more than hundred thirty bucks, this may not be the lightest in the group but it has all the bells and whistles you’ll need and want in a stroller while get a bang for your buck! Hence, this is without a doubt the best umbrella strollers 2017 for the mid price range. Like its siblings, the 3Dtote is a wonderful piece you should never miss out on.
JOOVY New Groove Ultralight Umbrella Stroller: best mid-price range
There’s a new groove in town you simply cannot miss! No, it’s not a new dance craze, but you’ll surely can’t stop dancing if you happen to own one of these far out strollers. I’m talking about the Joovy’s New Groove Ultralight strollers.
Joovy Groove Umbrella strollers have been around quite some time already, and it has been well-received ever since. It’s most well-known for its oversize canopy that even from afar, you can already tell it’s a Joovy. And this year, they got a revamp on their Groove and made it even better. Since we have featured the Joovy Groove version numerous times, it’s no surprise to see the revamp New Groove on our list of best umbrella strollers 2017.
Here comes a stroller which is not only newborn ready, but also for the big little ones, making the Joovy New Groove my best all around choice. This stroller has undergone several changes and enhancements, in their efforts to give the utmost comfort to our little ones. The new seat has a deeper recline and a bassinet mode such that newborns and children up to 55 lbs can sit and nap comfortably.
The seat is so nice that it is adequately padded with 5 point safety harness to keep your baby in place. Its multi-position recline can lay near-flat and easily adjust it with one hand even while the baby is occupying the seat, simply by pressing on the trigger found on each side of the recline clip. So you are ensured that your baby can sleep soundly without getting disturbed as you travel around the city or park for long hours. Now if you want to raise the seat back up, all you have to do is to pull the straps on the right and left of the clip. And you can also do that even while your little one is on the seat, pretty cool right?
Other notable features of the Groove Ultralight is its new, soft brushed water resistant fabric helps keep your child dry during light rains or when water is accidentally poured into its canopy. Worried on getting too much heat exposure from the sun? Don’t be! It’s well pretty obvious that with its oversize canopy gets your little kid covered and with its UPF 50 provides the utmost sun protection.
There’s also a peek-a-boo window that allows you to keep an eye on your child at all times. While for added convenience, you can find 2 cup holders in place where you can safely put your water bottle in one holder and a cup of coffee on the other. And as you all know, traveling with your baby means bringing loads of stuff and Joovy knows that too well. There’s the common bottom basket for the diaper bags, a zippered storage pocket to securely keep your keys, phone and other valuables, and 2 more mesh seat pockets make it easier to reach for bottles, snacks and toys.
New Groove Ultralight has upgraded wheels for more improved pushing and maneuvering through narrow aisles. While the 4-wheel suspension makes the ride less bumpier! Its footrest has wide coverage and can be adjusted to 2 positions to the comfort of your child.
I like how the New Groove sports a high quality water-repellent polyester fabric for stronger durability and easier to keep it clean due to better resistance against stain. While tall parents will love this for its tall ergonomic handles make pushing and turning stress-free. For my husband who is 6 feet tall can finally kiss goodbye to sore backs as he can easily operate the stroller without so much bending.
Now if you feel like going out for an after dinner stroll with your dearest child? The New Groove Ultralight makes a good companion, as it has safety reflectors that will illuminate at night and glows in the dark.
Despite carrying the name “Ultralight”, the New Groove isn’t exactly the lightest in the market or even on this list. And it is noticeably a bit bulkier, so carrying this around for long periods straight, even with a shoulder strap, can get quite tedious. Regardless, the New Groove still folds down to manageable size. Plus I feel that the extra weight and bulkiness is most likely due to its tougher construction and more features to showcase.
Its folding and auto lock mechanism works wonderful. It folds up and down nicely that can even stay standing on its own while folded. And if you ever feel like making an investment, this is a good start since this can accommodate newborns and with proper care, can last until your baby is more than 55 pounds or big enough not to need one.
For a mid-price range, it’s actually available for just under 200 bucks, but sometimes you can catch this on a discounted price which will make this even more value for money! So you better hurry up and take advantage of this large discount from Amazon. You can even get this delivered to your doorstep for free.
The New Groove Ultralight is a fantastic medium-sized stroller that packs more power and functionalities than lighter strollers. Most important of all, this makes a great investment for its newborn-ready design limited to only few strollers and mostly expensive ones. So instead of buying cheap strollers that easily breaks again and again, you can save more in the long run when all you need is a New Groove!
Maxi-Cosi Dana Stroller: best travel system convertible
Similar to the Joovy New Groove, the Maxi-Cosi Dana is newborn ready, but more specially designed for infants. It has more cool features and benefits that you can use with infants since the Dana also works as a travel system, meaning you can attach an infant car seat to this. While at the same time, you can still use this as a primary stroller even when your baby grows since it can also hold up a recommended maximum weight of 55 pounds. Hence, the Maxi-Cosi Dana is my choice for this year’s best umbrella Stroller Travel System convertible.
Since the Dana has a multi-position recline, its most notable feature is its ability to be in carriage mode with a full recline. This allows you to use it as a true pram. And if your kid is big enough to be able to sit on his or her own, you can switch the seat to an upright position to let your curious child get a good view of the surroundings or lean it further back for a short nap.
You also have the option to use it as a travel system with or without the stroller seat attached. This is a big help to keep your load to a minimum every time you travel with a baby especially during his or her infant stage. And since the Dana comes with the Maxi-Cosi infant car seat adapters included, you can transfer your baby from the car straight to the stroller without having to wake him or her up! You just have to purchase the actual infant car seat separately though.
Honestly, if you have the extra bucks, then go for it! This brings out the maximum capability of Dana, plus you also get to take advantage of its added convenience and versatility. The Maxi-Cosi Dana has 3 modes of applicability. First, you can use it with your child straight from birth in carriage mode. Second, you can use it as the usual stroller alone. Third, you can use it as a travel system with the car seat attached; but only if you buy its Maxi-Cosi car seat that could set you back for another 200 bucks. It’s up to you to decide which of these modes works best for your time of need.
Similar to the New Groove, Maxi-Cosi Dana boasts an extra large water resistant canopy that protects your baby direct sunlight, or from getting wet from light rains. The water just beads up and rolls off the canopy. Pretty cool indeed! Its canopy also has a peek–a-boo window to keep an eye on your baby while on the go.
Dana’s seat has a soft-cushion so your baby will have a comfy ride despite having to sit for long hours. Plus, its headrest is adjustable to the liking of your child. On the other hand, you can also remove its seat cushion to have a better airflow and keep your baby cool during the extra hot days.
Maxi-Cosi is also within the safety standards by equipping the seat with a 5-point padded harness system to keep your baby comfortable and secured at the same time. It has a puzzle lock so your baby won’t be able to accidentally unlock it. It’s also complete with the usual extras such a parent cup holder and a big storage basket. I appreciate how the basket is spacious enough to fit in a number of bags for your trips.
It has lockable front wheels that swivel and suspension at the rear wheels that makes maneuvering this easy and without a hitch. It also has a foot brake that adds more convenience and safety.
While Maxi-Cosi Dana is quite more expensive for just under $250, it’s well-justified seeing how much more it brings to the table. It covers all the basics of an umbrella stroller, plus more functionality that truly caters to infant’s needs. You never have to miss out on those travels and outdoor bonding moments. After all, your baby is ensured to have a safe and cozy ride with the Maxi-Cosi Dana stroller.
If you truly desire an umbrella stroller and travel system in 1, but finds its price tag to be totally out of your budget. You may want to check out the Grace Breaze Click Connect. Its price may be more up to your alley.
Maclaren Twin Triumph: best twin umbrella stroller
When it comes to baby strollers, Maclaren is a luxury brand every parent would be proud to own! But if you have 2 kids, buying 2 Maclaren’s might leave a hole in your wallet. So instead, why don’t we just opt for a double or twin umbrella stroller, more specifically a Maclaren Twin Triumph. The Maclaren Twin Triumph is actually the replaced version of the popular Maclaren Rally Twin which was introduced in 2007. Although the Twin Triumph has already been around few years back, it is now reintroduce for its improved model.
It features Maclaren’s classic one-handed umbrella fold mechanism and a step on brake system, which are easy and convenient to use. It is a big turnaround on the side-slide brakes that Maclaren buggies had few years ago. The Twin Triumph is actually the ‘budget’ twin pushchair of Maclaren. Honestly, I picked this for my best twin stroller choice because I feel that its features cover all that you’ll need for a stroller. But if you really want all the cool details and upgrades, the Techno will be your best bet. The Techno however was released late last year and will set you back for another hundred bucks.
Focusing on the Twin Triumph, it actually weighs lighter at about 22 pounds. Having 2 kids along the trip means carrying about twice the stuff you usually bring with you. Lifting a double stroller in and out of the car or up and down flights of stairs is going to be a challenge. So it’s really a great help to have a stroller that is not heavy. This is where the Triumph comes in.
Considering it combines 2 strollers in 1, its weight is not heavy at all. Pushing two hefty toddlers around won’t be a problem at all! With its light and compact design that can fit standard doorways, it makes traveling with two a breeze. While at the same time, it’s great for storing indoors since it doesn’t take up too much space.
Maclaren Twin Triumph works well for twins, toddlers and babies starting from 6 months of age. It can carry a recommended weight up to 110 pounds. What’s pretty cool and I love about this is despite having two strollers attached together, they can work quite independently. So even if you have a toddler on one seat and a baby on the other seat, that’s totally fine. You can adjust the seats’ recline separately.
It can also be reclined in several positions, capable of reclining enough for infants as well as holds 2 or 4 year old toddlers. And since each seat reclines independently, it provides mood options for the little passengers. One of your babies can sleep while the other can sit up and enjoy the ride. Its seat is also fully-padded with built-in leg support cushion for a cozier ride.
Navigation with the Triumph won’t give you any headache as well. The wheels swivel and are lockable. Combined with its light aluminium frame, this makes it easy to maneuver even through tight doorways or going uphill. The stroller doesn’t have a central handle, but does have ergonomically-angled handles on each side for better grip and control. Not to mention, they are nicely padded too so it’s comfy to touch.
Both seats have two mesh basket style storage and built-in pockets in the back. So, the Twin Triumph manages to hold more stuff given there are more baby essentials to bring as well. If you’re on a family outing, you can even store some chips, juice packs and other snack items in there to save some dollars than buying in the resort or amusement parks. But much like most strollers, you have to empty the storage bins first before you can fold the stroller back up.
Its folding mechanism is very simple, quick and easy to do one-handed. Although, few people had some difficulty folding it down while wearing flip-flops or open-toed shoes. But if you really can’t help wearing flip-flops, don’t worry, you can still fold it down. It’s just a matter of getting the hang of it so try practicing for a bit first.
Both seats also have a 5 point safety harness to keep both of your children safe in place. However, they can be quite tricky to undo. You have to hit the sides of the button as you undo the belt.
Each seat is provided with a separate hood, which are really nice and deep. Both canopies are waterproof and have extendable UPF 50+ for better protection from the sun, wind or other elements. A premium wind-resistant raincover is also included, which easily fits over both seats simultaneously. It has clips on each side to keep it secure once folded.
Even though this is the budget version of a Maclaren, I still find it more appealing and higher quality than other cheap twin umbrella strollers. It’s made of fine materials with little flex and high thread-count fabric. All pieces fit perfectly well to ensure durability and sturdiness. It got all your necessities covered, plus few pretty cool features you’ll love. And not one function will you find it useless, so it’s worth every penny. The Twin Triumph is a sure winner in our hearts and will leave nothing but good impression!
So friends, there you have it. These are my choices for best umbrella strollers 2017. Take your pick, you have the options to choose according to your budget, preferences and trust in the brand. If you have just started building a family with tight budget, J is for Jeep Brand North Star Stroller is perfect for you. While Evenflo Minno makes a great choice if you want a sturdier stroller priced below $100.
For those who are fond of outdoor activities and want strollers with a little more upgrade, I recommend Summer Infant 3Dtote Convenience Stroller. For you who want to enjoy the use of a stroller for your newborn baby from a time-tested brand, Joovy New Groove Ultralight Umbrella Stroller makes an excellent choice. If you’re looking for a multi-purpose stroller and versatility, Maxi-Cosi Dana Stroller is highly recommended. Now for those who have two little passengers, the Maclaren Twin Triumph is your best bud.
Whatever is your choice, I am pretty sure you will enjoy the company of your little ones; just as much they’ll enjoy their ride on any of these best umbrella strollers 2017. Happy strolling!
