Best Umbrella Stroller for Tall Parents

Imagine yourself strolling along the park or shopping in the mall while pushing a TINY umbrella stroller with your kid riding on it. Then you have to push that thing for SEVERAL HOURS! Now that’s definitely going to be uncomfortable and eventually, you’ll start feeling some back pains from hunching over a stroller for a long time. There are several stroller brands that are lower than the average ones, of course, those are the types we want to avoid even for a parent with average height. But there are also umbrella strollers that have excellent features but just come short in height for tall people. If that is the case, no matter how good they are, it would be too much a hassle for you to use.

Having an umbrella stroller way shorter for your height will greatly affect your experience and make your outing with your baby less enjoyable. Trust me! You will be too stressed over thinking how much your back hurts from hunching over the handlebars for long period and how annoying it is from constantly kicking the rear axle and wheels while walking. So think how hard it will be even more for tall parents to use a short umbrella stroller AND to find a good stroller for their height. So for moms and dads that are quite tall, I highly recommend you to consider getting one of these best umbrella strollers for tall parents!

The Reviews

UppaBaby G-Luxe

UppaBaby has been a diligent brand of producing high-quality strollers and always looking to improve their line like the G-Series to provide latest needs of parents. The G-Luxe series was one of the best umbrella strollers in the market and adored by numerous parents, including me!

The G-series is available in 2 class, the G-lite and the G-luxe. Both are amazing strollers and been consistently topping the charts for umbrella strollers. The G-Lite only weighs 11.2 pounds so it is really light and makes traveling hassle-free. On the other hand, the G-Luxe has the full package. So it may be slightly heavier, but is still pretty light compared to most umbrella strollers for it only weighs a total of 16.3 pounds. Surely, even for a mom like me with 5’4” in height will not have a problem carrying this anywhere.

Now getting to the point, what made the UppaBaby G-Luxe the best umbrella strollers for tall parents are its awesome combination of features and high handles. Its handles go as high up to 43 inches from the ground which is really comfortable for most tall adults. You can comfortably place your hands on its handles and push this thing without having to hunch over. You won’t ever have to get sore backs from pushing low strollers when going out for long hours.

And of course, as a parent, we don’t want to only look for a stroller that is perfect for our height. We should also look into the features that bring great convenience when in use and make our kids feel comfortable and safe riding it as well.

It is suggested that you can only use this when your little angel is already 3 months of age or older because it cannot fully recline to flat stance. Nonetheless, it has multiple recline positions, which includes a nearly flat recline. Thus, it makes this still very comfortable for your toddlers. You can easily adjust its recline position with its one-hand lever. On a more positive note, this can hold up to a maximum limit of 55 pounds which is above the limit of common strollers. It can accommodate taller and heavier toddler with its roomy seat.

This has a sturdy construction of an aluminum frame and will not easily tip over. Plus, its seat is well-cushioned with fabrics that are stain and water-resistant. While the seat pad is also removable. This way, the stroller will not get dirty easily and it allows you to wash them, keeping your babies protected from contacting germs. These features help extend its life and let the stroller stick with you for a long time. Because of that, it adds even more value to your investment.

Like most full-sized pushchairs, the UppaBaby G-Luxe also comes with a 5 point harness & buckle, a roomy basket for an umbrella stroller, a cup holder for moms and dads and an adjustable footrest for your growing child. It is also quick and easy to fold and unfold with its hand level trigger. No foot action is needed, which I must say is very convenient! When folded, it locks into place with an auto lock and can even stand on its own while folded! Pretty cool right?

In addition, it has a handy carry strap that lets you fling this on your back to carry it around with ease. Clearly, it is as much convenient for us parent to operate this and comfortable to the little rider at the same time. Oh and have I also mentioned, this one has bigger wheels, sporting a high performance 5.5” wheels. The wheels are made of hard rubber that has a bit of tire tread for a smoother ride. The stroller also becomes less shaky thanks to its shock absorbing suspension. Hence, this stroller is really easy to steer and can perform well on smooth surfaces, playground, and grass. Even you hit little bumps on the road, your kid will be totally fine and still sits comfortably.

Although it may not be as good compared with an “all-terrain” stroller, it does a better job than most average umbrella strollers around. Oh, and not to mention, this one also has a one action brake for a quick and convenient way to keep your baby safe and in place. You don’t have to bend down just to put the brakes on for each wheel.

Its canopy is quite the charmer. At a first glance, the canopy is already noticeably huge! But you can further extend it with its UPF 50+ pop-out sun visor that would instantly add extra coverage! Talk about providing total sun protection. The UppaBaby G-Luxe is available in 3 colors to choose from. The UPPAbaby G-Luxe is a full feature package for a totally worthwhile investment of not more than $300 with free shipping. It has a stellar performance of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Needless to say, with the UppaBaby G-Luxe, you can bid farewell to sore backs and hello to great convenience and comfort for both you and your child!

No doubt its features are totally worth it but if you’re still holding back on buying this for budget reasons, you may also want to consider looking into the old UPPAbaby G-Luxe models for a lower price of same quality. However, this 2018 G-Luxe edition has a more robust profile, better canopy, and improved wheels.

Joovy New Groove Ultralight Umbrella Stroller

Not far from the UppaBaby G-Luxe, the Joovy Groove has hefty cool features to showcase as well. Some features are also pretty similar with the G-Luxe.

It can also hold up to a maximum weight limit of 55 pounds, has an adjustable 5 point harness, and an easy one-hand fold with an automatic lock feature. Its handles are at a comfortable height of 42 inches high from the ground, thus making this a strong candidate for tall parents to consider as well.

As the name implies, it is ultralight weighing only at 14 pounds. Even a pregnant mom testified she managed to lift this in and out of the car or house and just carry it anywhere. It may be light in weight but it’s definitely heavy on features. It also does not take up too much space in the car so it’s really perfect for moms going out for grocery shopping with your kids! Taking the stroller out will be such a breeze. You will love to bring your kids along as much as they want to go out with you, and of course, to buy new toys and snacks home. You know how kids are. 😉

The Joovy Groove really makes it hard even for me to choose between this or the UppaBaby G-Luxe. The competition for best umbrella strollers for tall parents is really neck and neck! Its canopy is not one to get left behind especially when it comes to size. Its canopy also has a UPF 50 sun protection, providing an effective shield from the sun to your child. The canopy also has a top view window to let your angel take a peek up or at you if the outside surroundings can be overwhelming for him or her.

This one has bigger wheels sized 7 inches with sealed bearing and suspensions for a smoother ride and better maneuverability. You can lock the front wheels so they don’t turn side to side. It is well made and has a stable construction. If you try to hang a medium sized diaper bag even though your child is not sitting on it, it will not tip over.

The Joovy keeps you in the groove by trying to keep you as hands-free as possible while traveling. It can hold your things for you due to its large storage capacity. It has a bottom basket, 2 cup holders, 2 in-seat pockets and zipper pocket at the back. Mind you, it has not one but 2 cup holders! One for you and another for your kid’s bottle. The storage basket has adequate space. It may not be the biggest in the market but it definitely has a good size for an umbrella stroller, you will surely love. You can fit your other baby essentials and bags to free yourself from stress on having to carry both heavy and other intricate items.

Lastly, the Joovy Groove Ultralight Stroller never came short in bringing superb comfort to my babies. The seat is well padded, deep and has a near flat recline. I’m also a fan of adjustable footrest because it brings more comfort to my son and not make him feel tired or cause some cramps from having his legs dangle awkwardly for a long time. That’s without to say that both the UppaBaby G-Luxe and Joovy Groove Ultralight have this feature.

Although the Joovy may still be growing in popularity compared to the G-Luxe, it is undeniably a strong contender. It is just as heavily-featured as the G-Luxe at a lighter package. It also comes in different colors to choose from and available with prices not going beyond $150, plus free shipping! It is a great value for your money. So do yourself a favor, buy this for an amazing offer from the comfort of your home.

Chicco Liteway Strollers

Chicco has always been one of the most well-known and trusted brands for baby essentials. These guys know what they’re doing and provide great solutions for babies and parents’ needs. In fact, most of the umbrella strollers Chicco produced are a perfect fit and designed with tall moms and dads in mind, making Chicco as the top choice in almost all reviews and suggestions from parents.

But their Chicco C6 Stroller comes a little short in height and is comfortable to use for people not more than 5’6” in height. It’s such a shame though because it is really an amazing lightweight stroller. It is the lightest and costs the least among its siblings and is also one of the best-selling Chicco models with over 250 positive reviews from happily satisfied parents. It only weighs 11 pounds and is easy to operate with its quick release fold. It also comes with a stroller carry bag and shoulder carry strap, which adds huge convenience for you to carry anywhere and store after use. And even with its lightweight feature, it is actually made of an anodized aluminum frame for sturdier and stronger construction. But overall, I would better recommend this for people with average height.

On the other hand, the Chicco Liteway Plus is their higher end stroller. It is pretty commendable as it is loaded with features and just right for tall moms and dads. But the Liteway Plus tends to be a little heavy with a weight of 22.5 pounds so if you’re looking for a lightweight stroller, this might not be ideal for you. There are pros and cons for each stroller that is why, out of all Chicco strollers, I prefer and really love the Liteway Stroller.

The Chicco Liteway has a good balance of functionality and design. It has all the features you need from a full-sized stroller and most importantly, the design is also amazing. Firstly, the Liteway definitely has tall, padded handles, measuring 41 inches high from the ground. While the Liteway may seem to be the shortest among the 3, the handle is still at a comfortable height for tall parents. So even while you push it, you will not end up kicking the rear wheels nor have a problem pushing it!

Chicco’s seat also has sufficient padding to keep your little one feel comfortable sitting on it. Its fabric is also removable and washable so you can easily maintain it clean and germ-free for your baby’s health. The Liteway also has a solid aluminum frame. To ensure stronger durability, it took a toll on the weight instead. Hence, Liteway becomes the heaviest on the list at 17.2 pounds. Nonetheless, the weight is still pretty manageable. And thanks to its carry handle, it helps to transport the Liteway to places much easier.

Aside from the heavier weight, what I don’t like about Liteway is its holding capacity. As most umbrella strollers work, the Chicco can only be used when your baby is at 6 months of age. But unfortunately, the Chicco Liteway can only hold a child’s weight up to 40 pounds against Joovy or UPPAbaby’s 55-pound weight limit. It’s a real bummer! But what makes Chicco’s features still amazing are due to their adjustability.

While the canopy of Chicco Liteway is not as big as G-Luxe or Joovy New Groove, it still does a great job in providing coverage. It is actually quite flexible since it’s removable and adjustable. You can adjust the position of the canopy to face the actual direction of the sun to provide shade more efficiently. In addition, the canopy also has a peek-a-boo window to help you easily check on your baby from time to time.

Since not all children have the same size, not all stroller can also fit comfortably to them. Imagine your little tot wearing an oversized shirt. That’s basically it. But with Liteway, you can adjust it to fit correctly to your baby’s utmost comfort. The Chicco Litway offers 4 positions to accommodate your growing child’s needs. Pair it with an adjustable leg rest and your kid can surely relax to the max!

Chicco Liteway also includes the usuals like a spacious bottom basket and parent cup holder. While its wheels are large with rear-wheel suspension and front locking swivels to ensure easy maneuverability and smooth ride. You can also bring the Liteway to a quick-stop with its toe-tap brake.

In all honesty, some of the features of Chicco Liteway seem to be running behind Joovy and UPPAbaby for the title of the best umbrella strollers for tall parents. But what makes the Liteway a very attractive choice is due to its affordable price. After all, it won’t even costs you a hundred bucks to own a Liteway, yet you get a quality stroller from a trusted brand, Chicco.

Watch the short clip to see its amazing features you will love ever since it got popular. This is definitely not just perfect for tall parents but perfect for anyone. It is also featured in my review for the all-time best umbrella strollers!

The Round-Up

Sometimes, when getting the best umbrella strollers for tall parents may slightly cost more than the average strollers in the market. Nonetheless, it should not matter because investing on a reliable one that is good for your height is far better than getting one that is really affordable; but at the expense of experiencing back pains and having a good time with your kid!

If you want a solid choice with high handle, you can never go wrong with an UPPAbaby G-luxe. While keeping a stroller lightweight is your priority, then you can feel the groove of Joovy New Groove. On the other hand, if the price is still the driving force in your buying decision, then Chicco Liteway is the solution without dropping quality.

Here are more stroller options that have high handles for you to choose from.

Mom’s Words of Advice:

If you happen to already have an umbrella stroller and getting a new one is out of question, then I suggest you could also consider getting a handle extension. You can save the extra expense and get yourself almost similar feel to these strollers that have high handles. It is easy to use, all you need to do is to attach them to the handles, and they will clip right on the stroller’s existing handles. Although, these extensions are usually not adjustable and may add some bulkiness  for storage.

The Reviews

Dream on Me Jasper Lightweight Stroller

Dream on Me has definitely been a household name when it comes to budget-friendly baby products and it’s definitely no wonder why they’re so successful. Dream on Me is actually a sub-brand of the DOM Family, which started retailing in baby products since 1988. Since then, they’ve been innovating affordable products that combine function and style into one compact package. True to their service, their Dream on Me sub-brand promises quality products made affordable for every family. With a commitment like that, dreaming to own their product is easy to make into a reality!

But truth be told, there are few instances wherein their strollers come in a bit short despite being a tempting purchase due to their low price tags. Nevertheless, that won’t be the case with their Jasper Lightweight Stroller.

First of all, the Jasper lives up to its lightweight name by maintaining a total of 14 pounds of weight. I assure that you won’t struggle carrying this around or up and down the stairs since weight won’t be an issue. Plus, it even has hand strap on the side which makes it even more convenient to hand-carry it while folded. It is  incredibly easy to store through its compact fold design, which also makes it perfect for travelling. It barely takes up space so it can even fit inside the trunks of small cars or airplane compartments; and is smaller than other leading brands when it is folded. While it may take a few warm-ups for a new stroller to fold down smoothly. Its folding mechanism is quick and simple to use that you can already do it subconsciously.

Other than being a small portable package, the Jasper also packs features that enable it to grow with your baby. It has tall backrest, wide seating, extended footrest and highly adjustable qualities to comfortably accommodate your growing child’s needs. You can start introducing the Jasper as your baby’s best bud for travels at 6 months of age up to 36 months or when they’ve exceeded its capacity of 50 pounds!

To anticipate for your baby’s growth and situational needs, the Dream on Me Jasper is highly adjustable and easy to operate. It has multi-position recline for both nap and play time. You won’t even have to worry on transitioning between positions of the seat since it can be done smoothly with just one hand grip placed at the center of the backrest. While the 5-point harness keeps them safe, secure and keeps them away from touching everything in sight without compromising comfort! The harness comes with shoulder pads and can be easily adjusted so it won’t feel too tight. Aside from the harness, the canopy is also height-adjustable which can be easily operated with a simple slide gesture.

At first glance, its canopy looks similar to the Summer Infant Go Lite. The canopies provide some decent shade but not full coverage. If I have to choose between the two in terms of canopies alone, although both looks gorgeous, I’ll give my vote to Dream on Me Jasper. Because Jasper’s canopy has slightly longer coverage and better functionality. Aside from its unique height adjustability, it also extends cover at the back which creates additional protection from the elements for your child, especially when the seat is reclined all the way back for a sleeping position!

Like most umbrella strollers, this one also has a spacious basket at the bottom. On the other hand, Jasper gives you a little treat by attaching a cup holder on the side of its handle. It’s also quite deep, allowing you to fit taller bottles. You can enjoy longer trips with your baby while staying hydrated!

Driving the Jasper around town is a breeze with its superior maneuverability even in tight spaces and tricky surfaces. We owe it to its swivel front and lockable rear wheels, equipped with a Stop and Go braking system. This advanced braking system makes it easy to put the stroller on halt and prevent it from rolling away, promising an extremely smooth and safe ride for both you and your baby.

Lastly, the Jasper has a noticeable chic design, perfectly matched with quality construction! In fact, the Dream on Me Jasper passed the CPSC and ATMA Certificate. Meaning, this stroller passed the safety standards in baby products, which guarantees a safe trip for your baby. Equipped with padded handle bars and bumper bar provide extra comfort and safety. Covering the sturdy but light frame is a plush and breathable textile material that prevents it from getting dirtied easily!

The Dream on Me Jasper will definitely be a clear slam dunk with every parent for its functionality, style and affordability, all in one package! Clearly, the Dream on Me Jasper Stroller redefines what it means to be a budget product, bagging a place for the best cheap umbrella strollers!

Summer Infant Go Lite Convenience Stroller

Summer Infant is no stranger to making great quality strollers for an affordable price, best example is their Summer Infant 3D Lite. It was so successful in 2014 that they left nothing but positive remarks and 2015 is proven to be another great year for them as they produced their new lineups to watch out for, the 3D Flip, 3D Zyre and now the Summer Infant Go Lite Convenience Stroller. For moms and dads in search for feather weight stroller with lesser budget, this is highly recommended!

Now that the First Years Ignite is no longer widely available, but you still want one, this is as close as you can get. Better yet, it’s cheaper! Although, the Ignite is still better in features, the differences are minimal. The Summer Infant Go Lite has a 5-point safety harness and is made of a sturdy steel frame, so you will be confident on the safety of your child. Its anti-shock front wheels are nice to have. It can keep your little one sound asleep even as you go over rough terrains or bumpy roads. And for something to be quite inexpensive, its recline adjustment is well define that it can smoothly adjust from seating position to almost flat to provide better comfort for your baby while she sleeps.

You are also likely to use this long enough until your child learns how to walk. After all it can carry up to 50 pounds of weight. However the seat is fairly shallow so make sure to only use this when your child can sit on its own. It storage pocket is also kind of small for me. Since I love to travel, I prefer a stroller that has a large storage for my baby’s essentials. Obviously,  it’s no match when compared to higher end umbrella strollers and that will also not be fair. The Summer Infant Go Lite Convenience Stroller is still a great gem above the usual cheap umbrella strollers.

I like its adjustable canopy, it not really that big but it is still nice to have one and it manages to provide little sun shade. Its three fold style is very easy but may require two hands. It is sleek and can be stored in tiny spaces, it can even fit just at the back of your door. The stroller weighs about 15.6 pounds, still pretty light that I can manage to carry it with one hand and not give me much trouble when travelling.

The style is simple yet still shows sophistication and does not go out of date. The black and green color combination is my favorite. I love to travel with my little angel, but I also need to take care on house chores, my business and accomplish my job as a wife, I don’t have a lot of free time to clean it; so the color helps. The little green accent makes it pretty than just going with pure black, but that’s just my preference.

Last but not the least, it still boils down to price. The price of Summer Infant Go Lite ranges between $55 to $65, depending on its design. It’s not the lowest among the three but it’s one of the best cheap umbrella strollers that provides the most value for your money. It’s practical and you get what you pay for with slightly better quality and features. If you got few extra cash, you may want to consider the Summer Infant 3D Lite with just about 10 bucks difference, or you may also want to check out the best umbrella strollers under $100. Your summer outing will be successful and complete with the Summer Infant Go Lite Convenience Stroller. Two thumbs up for this stroller!

J is for Jeep Brand Scout AL Sport Stroller

J is for Jeep has always been well-known as a great and reliable budget brand for baby products. They’re a great go-to brand if you’re ever in the market for cheaper alternatives to expensive high-end baby gear. They definitely haven’t disappointed me yet! Whenever my friends ask me where they can get great value for money for their baby’s needs, J is for Jeep is usually an easy answer. And its Scout AL Sports stroller is no exception to J is for Jeep’s long line of affordable functional products for you and your baby.

But as we go further down the price on the list of best cheap umbrella strollers, it’s no surprise that the next one will also have slightly lesser features compared to the more expensive ones. With that said, I also find the Scout AL Sports slightly inferior than the Summer Infant. Nevertheless, it still has some tricks and relevant features you really need at a lower price.

Let’s start with the general design of the Scout Stroller. It’s pretty simple and straightforward – as every baby stroller should be. The last thing you want is going crazy trying to figure out what pokes through where and what buttons and levers pop open what. With the Scout you get a simple all-around stroller that also preaches the same no nonsense concept like most of J is for Jeep’s baby strollers which is great for the modern minimalist parent. Now let’s get on to the features of this bad boy!

The first thing you’ll probably notice is its canopy. It’s pretty huge and handy! Added to the fact that it has a nice little color accent, it is very hard to miss. The extendable European style canopy has sun visors which is large enough in providing decent sunshade. It also helps protects your child from the bad elements that could possibly harm him or her. And speaking of protection, this also keeps your child safe thanks to its 5-point safety harness with soft shoulder pads. So, it not only keeps your baby firmly in place but also comfortable. A cool feature they added to the harness is a reflective trimming. This allows the stroller to have an excellent visibility even in darker situations for night time strolls and errands.

The build quality is also pretty solid but remains not too heavy due to its high quality aluminum frame. While its sturdy 6” front and back wheels with a suspension system can take a beating. Whether it’s maneuvering through tighter spaces or running on bumpy cobblestones. The sturdy build makes all the difference gives you the smooth ride that both you and the baby deserve. While the soft rubber carrying handles are the definitive icing on the cake for this beautiful umbrella stroller. The handles are just at the right place, so it’s pretty comfortable for even tall parents to push this thing.

To give your baby that extra comfort, this umbrella stroller also has multiple reclining positions. It’s perfect for both nap and exploring time. While it doesn’t lie flat, it still has a pretty deep recline to provide optimum comfort for your child as he or she sleeps.

Once the day is done, the Scout has a quick and compact fold design. You can easily store it and won’t even take too much space. These make it an ideal modern baby stroller for differently sized homes and travels. So it’s light, compact, and comfortable in hand especially thanks to the rubber handles I mentioned earlier. And you definitely don’t have to worry about it rolling off somewhere either. There’s a “fold and go” auto-lock latch to make it easy to transport and stay its ground. While the rear wheels also feature their very own easy step breaks!

Lastly, strollers are not only useful for your baby but also brings convenience to parents! You can have a nice cup of coffee or whatever beverage you fancy as you stroll. You don’t even have to hold it all the time since Scout AL Sports can hold it for you. It has a parent cup holder that is just ready for your everyday go-to energy drink! To further keep you as load-free as possible, the Scout AL offers a lot of opportunities for storage. First, you’ve got a double rear canopy bag. Then you have velco closure side pockets that are also detachable, and lastly, a very spacious undercarriage bin! Awesome!

Weighing in at only 16.1 pounds, the Scout AL Sport is a fantastic affordable option as far as baby strollers go. It actually retails around $80. But depending on the 3 colors you end up choosing, you can get this at a lower price between 50 to 70 bucks. Fortunately, gender-neutral colors such as green and blue are available at its lower price point. It’s functional, lightweight, compact, and can even carry a weight of up to 50 pounds! Thus, with the Scout AL, you’re not only getting one of the best cheap umbrella strollers. You’re also getting a great bargain for its actual value.

Guide on Different Types of Strollers

For new parents, one of the gears you must have is a stroller. There are different types of strollers that it can be a little confusing which one to get. You don’t actually need to own each one, usually having two of these is sufficient. So to better understand each one and help you decide which type of stroller is right for you, you came into the right place.

The Different Types of Strollers

  1. Travel Systems

These types are usually sold in a combination of convenience stroller and infant car seat. It includes a stay-in-car base so you can place the baby in car safely then bring her/him out for a stroll, vice versa. But these types are often not of the highest quality and is not ideal to use for a prolonged period. The problem with these types, they are often not of high quality and instead of transferring our children to the stroller when we’re outside. It is tempting for us to keep our child in her infant seat placed on top of the stroller for prolonged time especially if we do not want to disturb them when we find them asleep. This, however, is not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics because doing so will increase the risk of plagiocephaly or also known as misshapen skull which could also compromise young infant’s breathing.

Most car seats accommodate an infant up to 40 pounds, or approximately 4 years of age. The strollers are designed to fold quickly and easily, and are usually compact for easy storage. This is a good option for travels but we have the responsibility to make sure we minimize the use of infant car seat only when traveling and transfer our kids to a proper stroller.

  1. Standard Full-Sized Strollers

These strollers are usually the biggest, heaviest and bulkiest among the bunch. So if you are just going out for quick trips or use public transits, this might not be ideal to bring since it requires too much work in fitting it inside your vehicle or carrying it around. But what’s great with standard and full sized strollers, they serve their functions very well and have the most features you will need for a stroller. Such additional features include a parent and child trays, large storage basket, full-recline feature and canopy.

These types also brings the most comfort to your child. And since they tend to be heavy, it is because they mostly durable and solid construction made with aluminum frames. These helps the stroller for better maneuverability, stability and resistance to rust. You will surely be using this for a long time before you will ever need to replace another.

Unlike other strollers that require them to a little older before you can use them, the standard and full-size strollers can be used from the time your child is born. You can also use when you baby has reached up to 50 pounds of weight and about 4 years of age.

  1. Jogging Strollers

Just by its name, you would already have an idea that these types are designed for active parents in mind. These are three-wheeled strollers that allow you to bring your baby along while you exercise. Jogging Strollers are usually available in two main types, a swivel front wheel and those with stationary one. While you may opt for swivel wheels to have better maneuverability, fixed wheels on the other hand are more stable and less likely to shake too much on every bump and dip when you are going too fast.  They have unique features such as hand-brake and all-terrain wheels to prevent the stroller from too much shaking when you are going too fast and easily brakes it for sudden stops. They still have the common accessories like storage basket and comfortable seat.

Even when you have kids around, don’t let that hold you back from living your active lifestyle. This stroller lets you maximize your active lifestyle and still keeps your baby safe. You can go jogging, light hiking and camping with your baby just fine. However, jogging strollers do not recline and are not very safe to use with your children under six months old or who still unable to sit up. Jogging strollers can accommodate up to 50 pounds or roughly 5 years of age.

  1. Double Strollers

You got pregnant and to your surprise, you are not only expecting one kid, but twins! Now that’s twice the fun but also twice the work. But you don’t have to worry about spending on strollers twice as well, the double stroller is perfect for you. But this stroller is not only limited to you but can also be used if you have more than one young child. The double stroller lets you conveniently bring both of your toddlers along with you. This way, it will be a lot easier for you to bring both of your kids and monitor them.

They are available in various designs such as side-by-side, tandem or one where one child can sit behind and the other in front. Double strollers can also overlap with other types of stroller. You can sometimes find a jogging and double strollers in one or umbrella type double strollers. In short, a double stroller can also function similar with the other types. Similar to standard strollers, you can use this with newborns, but only if the seats can fully recline. You can also use this until your children reach about 40 pounds, or approximately 4 years of age.

These types of strollers are extremely lightweight and can be easily folded in compact form. That is why umbrella strollers can also be considered as lightweight and convenient strollers. They are ideal for short trips and traveling. It fits well in compact vehicles, overhead compartments of airplanes or can be taken on any public transit without much hassle. But since they don’t have much padding support compared to the standard strollers, it is recommended to use this if your baby have adequate head and neck control and can sit up unassisted, usually around 6 months of age and up to 50 pounds in weight.

With the fast paced lifestyle we have, it is only natural that we would want a stroller that we can easily operate and use. That is why, I feel that among these kinds of stroller, an umbrella type must be included in your gear since you are likely to use this often when running an errand or going for a quick stroll. Hence, you will be using it for a long period or even until your kids have all grown up. Eventually, almost all Americans will only be using this, if not, at least own one pair of these.
